October comes around and it seems like that is our family picture time...I love how our pictures turned out. I can't believe how big Owen is, and that next fall there will be a little girl thrown in the mix!

I can't even stand how handsome this boy is! When he was born I thought I loved him more than anything but I love him more every single day...He is my best little buddy, and I love being able to spend all day everyday with him. I am so lucky to have such a hardworking, loving husband who wants what is best for our family.

And then there was Wrigley...the best dog in the world. He loves Owen, and he is so good to put up with his hair pulling and chasing all day. Such a sweet thing. Corey and I say that no future dog could ever live up to him.

2 years old!

I can't believe I have a two year old! Owen turned two on August 26th. I'm a little late blogging. Owen loves cowboys, so this year we gave him a cowboy birthday...he loved it. Some of his cousins and little friends came over for a party. Some random thoughts I have right now about my little boy...
He is so handsome. He is very kind, always saying sorry over every little thing. He is LOUD LOUD LOUD around the house and with his good buddies. He is extremely shy around large groups and people he doesn't know very well. He loves Buzz Lightyear. He adores Wrigley and tells him he's a good boy everyday. He is going to be an awesome big brother. He loves helping Mommy and Daddy. Loves anything with wheels! He is tall, and able to do so much. He is healthy and happy, and it's all I could ask for.

Dinosaur Museum!

We went to the Natural History Museum on Monday down at Thanksgiving Point.
It was a lot of fun!

Corey Owen and I don't seem to have a lot of time to just us lately.

I love it when it is just the three of us.

Owen looks so old in these pictures, I can't stand it. (He is giving us a thumbs up in this pic.) Time is flying!

I love my boys.

I love knowing that everyday I get to laugh. All because of this little thing. Every parent thinks that they have the cutest, smartest, most talented kid, I know that. How great is that though? That we all honestly beleive that?
...Funny faces...

...cheesy smiles...

...silly hats...

...and make shift forts...
It's all amazing, and I know it will never get old.

Dad's

Dad's are the greatest. Dad's get to be the fun one. Dad's get to be the silly one. Dad's get to mess around. I am so glad that Owen has a Dad that does all of these things with him. Corey has always been a great Dad, but as Owen gets older, it's so amazing to see them together. Owen loves his Daddy sooo much. I left the other night, I was trying to kiss Owen goodbye, and he was trying to push my car door shut on me because he wanted to stay home with his Dad.
Owen is lucky to have Corey as a Dad. I can see the things he will teach him just by his example. He is an amazing provider. He works 50 to 60 hour work weeks so I don't have to go get a 'real job' When he commits to something he will follow through no matter what. He is loyal. He is patient. Just to name a few. I love him for all these things. Some days I look at him and think "Dang he's flippin' cute!" I love that! And so much more. We all have our bad days and rough spots with our spouses. Some days I really have to look at the eternal perspective of things...life is too short.

Some favorites...

I have been home all week with Owen, who has hand foot and mouth. Gross I know. This week I have seen all his "favorites" over and over. Thought I would put it down so I never forget!
Favorite T.V. show: Calliou
Favorite Movie: Muppet's take Manhattan and Curious George
Favorite Drink: Milk (just plain old white milk)
Favorite Book: Brown bear brown bear
Favorite people: Daddy and Grandma

Owen loves his silky blanket, playing legos, laying in mom and dad's bed for naps and movies, has discovered that snakes are cool. (ewww) and loves to say "My Money!" in his little devious voice.

oh the lies

I love primary? No you don't Owen. That sticker on your head...it's a lie.
I knew it. I knew that my kid would be the one that cries for nursery on Sunday. In fact I told my bishop two months ago that he might as well put me in the nursery because my child would be the cryer. Well, he didn't. Not like I really WANTED that calling, but just thought I would offer. Just thought I would warn them.
Owen's nursery teachers are so cute. A young married couple with no kids. They try hard, and there are a lot of other little boys his age that he loves to run around with in sacrament meeting, but heaven forbid I put him in a room with all his friends, surrounded by awesome toys, and shut the door. Heaven forbid.
People are going to tell me he will get used to it. I've heard it before. He is the biggest Mama's boy, I cannot leave his sight. Oh well, maybe I should enjoy it until he starts pushing me away.

My Monster

My monster turned 18 months on Feb. 26th. He is in the 25th percentile for his weight and in the 90th for his height. Tall and skinny. He is growing and talking and doing everything is supposed to be doing. We are so grateful to have such a healthy happy little boy.

We got Owen's baby bouncer back from one of my sisters a couple months ago. Owen automatically took it over, and it is his favorite place to chill out. This is part of our nighttime routine. We turn on 'Sprout' he grabs his blanket, his milk, and his puppy, and plops right down in his little lounge chair. He's so funny.

a boy and his dog

Hiding out under the computer desk

I think that Wrigley is Owen's best friend. He loves his puppy so much. Wrigley is so good to him. He let's him roll and play all over him. Owen is only about three inches taller then Wrigley, it's so funny to watch them play. Thanks Wrig.

Zermatt

Corey and I own a hotel suite at Zermatt Resort in Midway. Corey dedicated about 7 years of his life to this place until recently when he decided that he needed to move on. He worked there when this place was a pile of dirt, and his office was in a trailer. It's so amazing to see what this place has become. We have so many memories of this place and have so much fun when we are up there. Unfortunatley we are unable to keep our place due to finances and the economy. That won't keep us away though.

We decided to make a quick getaway this past Saturday to Sunday. We went swimming, ate good food, explored these beautiful ice castles they have on the property, and just had fun.

big boy bed...

Owen has never been a great sleeper. He still wants to cuddle in mommy and daddy's bed at night, and never wants to be in his room alone. We have been trying to get him to want to sleep in his own room. I thought that a "big boy bed" might intrigue him. It did. He has fallen asleep in his own bed since it has been up, and come 3:30ish he finds his way into our room. I attempt to take him back into his bed, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I know a lot of people say this is horrible, but I don't care. Owen will only be our baby once and there are few things better then cuddling with your precious little boy. I can't get over the fact that he even is old enough for a "big boy bed" time flies. I say this time and time again.
