She is becoming a gorgeous woman, and she truly is one of the sweetest people I know. She is an amazing big sister, daughter, niece, and friend. She is so much fun to be around, and I am glad I am a part of her life. We have had so many good times! LOL... I couldn't be more proud of her. I love you Morgs, have a sweet 16!!

Mildred Rose Parker Hackwell 1923 ~ 2008 On December 13, 2008 our sweet, loving mother, Mildred Rose Parker Hackwell, quietly passed into the waiting arms of her husband, son, mother, and father. Mildred was born in Salt Lake City on September 26, 1923 to Clyde and Rose E. Swenson Parker. On March 28, 1942 she married Vernon Eugene Hackwell. Mom loved to crochet, spending many hours working on her doilies and tablecloths that she so generously shared with everyone. She was a very hard worker and worked at the Lunt Motel for many years. Mildred leaves a legacy of love and devotion to her children and grandchildren and a lifetime of memories and love. She leaves behind three children, Barbara (John) Pestana, Vern Jr. (Sherri Nelson) and Susan (John) Davis; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, her husband; son, David; son-in-law, John Pestana; mother and father; brother, Clyde Parker and sister, Lucille Wright. Services are Wednesday, December 17th, 11:00 a.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 S. State Street. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services. A special thanks to the staff at the Clearfield Beehive House for the tender love and care they so freely gave to our mother and to our family.
My grandma passed away this past week. It was a week full of mixed emotions. Though the past few years were difficult ones for her and I did not see her much, it does not make it any easier. In fact that makes it harder. I was lucky enough to speak at her funeral. I thought I would post it:
I could not pass up the opportunity to stand and share my thoughts about grandma. When I received the phone call from my parents telling me about her passing, many memories, feelings, and images rushed through me. I was racked with all emotions, the first being surprised, followed obviously by sadness, and soon after the realization of her new found happiness. I feel as if the days of being at grandma and grandpas house have been long gone, though they will not be long forgotten. I know as grandkids we all have similar and probably some of the same memories. Not to say they are not individually special. They are. Treasure them.
One of my brightest memories is taking walks with grandma. This is due to the lack of driving she did. Grandma didn’t know how to drive. Which as a small child I found peculiar, and as a teenager, and now through adult hood I find funny, and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because she was so reluctant to give up grandpas car after he died, maybe it’s because I can envision her sitting in the passenger side without him, starting that car and rolling down the windows just to say that she still used it.
My favorite thing about grandma was that she was a storyteller. Maybe all grandparents are. But I could listen to those stories about her and grandpa in their early years for a very long time. In fact I would often ask her the same questions. She used to tell me that grandpa was gone at war for 3 years, and she knew down to how many months, weeks, and days. Unfortunately I don’t remember.
Grandma is gone, but we are all living her legacy. Grandpa’s too. I would like to think that the history of OUR grandparents is not remembered by fancy things or material items but in the laughter and tears of their children and their children’s children. It is in us where the lives of our grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future.

Thanksgiving
There is so much to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, by beautiful baby boy Owen. He is the greatest thing in my life, and I am so thankful that I get to be home with him day after day. It never gets old.
My family, My parents, the greatest examples of all time, my sisters, they are my best friends. All 5 of us are so lucky to have each other, I see them everyday just about, and thank my heavenly father for them daily.
Corey, an amazing husband and father, who does not get thanked enough! (my bad)! I love him so much, and Owen adores him!
My testimony.
My house.
My insanely awesome nieces and nephews, who really taught me how to be a mom in the first place.
Supportive Grandparents.
My ridiculous shaggy dog.
My country.
My experiences, and so much more. Thanks to everyone in my life. Love and stuff...

that laugh
A fast post today: Owen belly laughed for the first time yesterday. I couldn't believe how loud it was, and how wide his smile got. My nephew Drew was the lucky one who got it going. He was shaking his head in his face, and Owen couldn't contain himself. It was so amazing I cried. That may sound weird, but it's those "firsts" that are so special.

I recently got some pictures of my baby that I had not really seen before. They made me cry! I can't believe how small he was. He is sitting here on my lap just "gooing" at the computer screen. He thinks he can talk I swear.
Here are some pictures of the kids I am absolutely crazy about. Not all of them are pictured sadly, but to all 15 of them thanks for letting me be such a part of their lives. They were all so excited to meet baby the day he was born, and they still dote over him every chance they get. I am so glad my boy has such good cousins to look up too.

Halloween
Halloween was a lot of fun this year. We had our annual family party and all of us dressed up. Everyone was way funny, as usual! Corey and I were Sarah Palin and John McCain. Owen was a baby bear, and of course Wrigley...was super man (or dog)! During Halloween day Owen wore this orange shirt with the "boo bear crew" on it. It was originally Jensen's shirt who is now 7! So I need to give a shout out to Jens and his mom, my sister, Jenn.
Owen also went for his two month check up on Halloween. He got his first set of shots! Kinda sad, but unavoidable. He is in the 75th percentile for his weight and 90th for his height. He is growing and doing fab! We hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween weekend...Love and Stuff!

I thought this was really funny. I was wishing Corey would be Edward, but eh what can you do? Carlisle is pretty darn sexy

I was happy about this...now I am going to make Corey take the quiz...

So my sisters are giving me a hard time because I have not posted anything for a while. A lot of stuff goes on day to day, but I don't think anyone will really want to hear about the "small stuff"! Anyway, these pictures were taken when we went pumpkin pickin' with my sister Julie and her cute fam! It was a very cold night and the kids didn't love it. We had to tell Aliza we would give her a cookie just so she would smile for a picture. lol.
Owen also got blessed a couple weeks ago. That was neat, and it was so fun to see all our family and friends come out to support us. Thanks to everyone who made it and helped out so much.
Owen is now two days over his two month mark. Crazy how fast life happens! He is so cute, and loves to smile. He rarely cries. Such a happy boy. He actually gave me a little laugh this morning when he woke up and that made me crack up. I couldn't ask for anything better.
Just for the heck of it I will tell ya that I am joining weight watchers tomorrow! I am ready to get back in the game. (It's about time I know)! So wish me luck! Love and stuff...

Look at those lips! Being a mom is the best. I'm so glad I have the chance to be this little guy's mommy. I see him getting bigger and older everyday and It's kinda sad, but at the same time I can't wait to watch him grow and experience life. All I want is for him to be happy and healthy. Our home is so much more eventful and full of light now that we have him here. I love you Owen, you truly have stolen my heart.

Our cute and crazy dog Wrigley has been the baby for past 8 months. I was never worried about how he might act when the baby came, and frankly I didn't care. I'm not the overprotective type. (when it comes to my dog i mean). So anyway it turns out he really likes Owen. He always wants to be sniffing him and would lick his head right off if I let him. We were driving to my sisters the other day and I look back to check on Owen and this is what I found...we thought it was picture worthy.

Im still trying to figure this whole blogging world out. It's harder than it looks!
So this past week has been awesome. Owen will be three weeks old on Tuesday, and I can't even beleive it. He looks older everyday. We took him to the doctor for his two week and he only weighed 7 pounds 14 oz. which is 5 oz. below his birth weight. His doctor said to come back in three days for a weight check to make sure he was gaining. I felt like a horrible mom, like i was starving my child. He just isn't getting enough from me so we are having to give him bottles. (which I hate, but we gotta do what we gotta do.) We took him back in on Friday and he weighed 8 pounds 7 oz. He had gained about 8 oz. in three days. Crazy! Hopefully we can get this feeding thing figured out soon.
